What is a work visa for
The visa-free regime with EU countries, introduced in 2017, contributed to the increase in the flow of Ukrainian migrants to the West several times. According to the new rules, citizens of Ukraine can stay in the Schengen zone for up to 90 days with a biometric passport, but this does not give them the right to official employment. To get a job and legalize yourself in the country, you need to apply for a work visa. Failure to comply with this rule threatens a fine and deportation from the country. The only exception is Poland, whose laws allow Ukrainians to get a job without a visa for a short period (within 90 calendar days). What documents are needed to apply for a work visa in 2026?
List of required documents for applying for a work visa:
- A standard application form filled out in the language of the country where you intend to work;
- A job invitation;
- 2 photographs 3.3 x 4.5 cm;
