Seasonal Work Abroad 2026: Top Popular Countries
Seasonal work in Europe is becoming more and more popular among Ukrainians. Many compatriots regularly travel to several countries for short periods of time – from 2 weeks to 2 months. Salaries in European countries are several times higher than Ukrainian ones, even taking into account that seasonal work is focused on unskilled labor. Most vacancies are in the agricultural sector, but you can also find work in cities.
Poland
Poland is popular with Ukrainians due to its close location. Most often, people come here to harvest for 2-3 months, from spring to autumn. In Poland, they grow vegetables, strawberries, and apples. Temporary work in the city can be found for the Polish vacation season. The list of professions includes drivers, nurses, waitresses, and caregivers. In November-December, you can really make good money wrapping gifts.
Czech Republic
In addition to vegetable pickers, people are invited to work in forestry in the Czech Republic. Among the most popular specializations are logging and planting seedlings. Livestock breeders and machine operators are needed.
Finland
In Finland, you can earn good money by picking berries (cloudberries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries). The trip usually takes from 2 weeks to a month. Picking wild berries and mushrooms is paid higher, but more labor-intensive, designed for people in good physical shape.
Sweden
Farms accept Ukrainians in Sweden as well. The contract is concluded for 2-3 months, and you have to work in the field or greenhouse 6 days a week for 8-12 hours. The payment is up to 10 euros per hour.
Norway
Ukrainians are invited to Norway for up to 3 months to harvest, work on livestock farms, trim trees in gardens, weed, and make hay. The list of vacancies includes work in fish processing, including on floating factories.
Germany
As everywhere, there are more seasonal vacancies in the summer, but you can also find work in the off-season or in winter. Construction specialties and service workers are in demand. Snow removers are needed in winter.
Austria
Austria is a favorite destination for Ukrainians in winter. Ski resorts require administrators, instructors, security, maids, waiters, nannies and hairdressers. Knowledge of English or German is required.
Spain and Portugal
Ukrainians go to Spain and Portugal to pick citrus fruits and olives. In these countries, you can also find work as a nurse or get a job in the hotel business, but for this you need to have communication skills in Spanish or English.
Seasonal work abroad for young people
Summer holidays are a good time for students to earn extra money. You can go to seaside resorts for 2-3 months to work as animators, waiters, or maids. Medical students will find extra work as massage therapists, historians will find work as tour guides, and there will be work for athletes and teachers. Foreign hotels offer vacancies for nannies, fitness instructors, and lifeguards. A good knowledge of a foreign language will give you the opportunity to get a job as an administrator in a hotel in the resorts of Spain, Greece, and other European countries.
In the summer, girls can work abroad as a nanny or family assistant, and during the vacation season, as service personnel. Additional staff is needed in boarding houses to care for the elderly, with preference for medical students. In 2-3 months, you will be able to earn a good reputation and, after defending your diploma, return here to sign a long-term employment contract.
